FULL AND SHORT PAPER SUBMISSION

MUM 2009 requires that all the papers present original work that has not been previously published and is not submitted simultaneously to any other conference or publication.

Authors of accepted papers will be asked to sign an ACM copyright release form to have the papers included in the ACM Digital Library.

To submit papers to the MUM 2009 conference, please read the formatting guidelines provided on this page and make sure that your submission complies with these requirements. Then upload your paper in the .pdf format to the MUM 2009 Paper Submission site by September 3, 2009 (Midnight PDT).

Formatting Guidelines
All the full paper and short paper submissions for MUM 2009 should be in ACM conference proceedings format and submitted through the MUM 2009 Paper Submission site.

The cover sheet should specify:

  • All the paper submissions must be annonymized.
  • Submissions must be no more than 10 pages for full papers and 4 pages for short papers. This length includes all the contents of the submission: figures, tables, references, appendices, and so forth.
  • The abstract should not exceed 200 words.
  • The paper must be submitted in the pdf format. No other formats (including Postscript) can be accepted.
  • All the symbols and labels used in the graphs should be readable when printed.
  • The uploaded file should not exceed 15Mb in size.

TUTORIAL PROPOSALS SUBMISSION

Proposals for a half-day tutorial should be sent directly to Ahmed El Arabawy, the Tutorial Chair by September 3, 2009 (Midnight PDT). The proposals should be in pdf format, including a cover sheet and an extended abstract.

The cover sheet should specify:

  • The title and the length of the tutorial
  • The intended audience (introductory, intermediate, advanced)
  • Any background knowledge or skills required
  • Complete contact information for the contact person and other presenters
  • A brief biography (maximum 2 paragraphs) for each presenter

The extended abstract should provide sufficient information about the scope of the topic and the depth to which it will be covered:

  • A description of the coverage
  • A description of the tutorial objectives
  • An outline of the tutorial
  • Its relevance to the MUM community.

The abstract should not exceed 2 pages.
